Whether ski-touring, snow shoe hiking or ice skating – there are many opportunities for your perfect holiday.

Skitouring

Exploring the untouched nature on skis.
Take your backpack, climbing skins and touring bindings and off you go.
You can start very early in the morning to see the sun rise from the top of the mountain or try out the full-moon ski tour later in the evening.

Did you know, that Falkert provides the starting point for some of the most beautiful back country tours in the Nockberge Mountains?
They also created a ski touring trail especially for beginners. The tour starts at 1875 meters at the Falkert Lake. Here you will also find the first two of the six info boards. These boards will accompany you on your way up to the top of the mountain “Falkertspitz”. With 430 m difference in heights and a length of approx. 2,5 km this tour is ideal for ski touring rookies.

Have you already heard of the “Nockberge Trail?
This is the new lead product for winter in Carinthia, which connects the five ski areas of Katschberg, Innerkrems, Turrach, Falkert and Bad Kleinkirchheim/St. Oswald with one another. The Nockberge Trail is a multi-day ski crossing which aims to offer enjoyment and well-being.

Snow-shoe hiking

    Try something new and take a winter snow-show walk through the untouched landscape.
    Recharge your batteries by enjoying the picturesque mountain scenery of your surroundings.
    Snow shoe hiking is a perfect activity for the whole family that guarantees great fun in the snow.
    Guided tours including equipment rentals are offered almost every week in Bad Kleinkirchheim

    Cross-county skiing

    Did you know that cross-country skiing uses almost 85% of the body’s muscles?
    The Nockberge regions offers a lot of cross country slopes. Whether classical style or skating, whether beginner or pro, there is something for everybody.

    Ice skating

    Once winter has begun, the crystal-clear lakes transform into a smooth ice surface and invite guests to slip into their ice shoes and run across the water.
    The most famous lake for ice skating is lake “Weissensee” (ca. 80 km away).
    But also, the lake at Turracher Höhe invite families to enjoy ice skating.
